Self-Regulation: An essential building block in your child’s development. When little humans are in a regulated state, this means they are in an optimal state to learn, focus and form connections. Regulation can be broken down into:
Sensory Processing: This area is of particular importance to us, as we understand the impact of how children process and react to sensory information. Sensory processing issues can manifest as overreacting or underreacting to touch, taste, sound, smell, and movement.
Play Skills: Play is a vital aspect of child development, covering sequencing, problem-solving, cognitive skills, self-regulation, communication, social interaction, and the ability to employ imagination and engage in pretend play. After all, play is the language of the child!
Fine Motor Skills: These encompass the coordination of small hand muscles, vital for activities such as toy exploration and manipulation, handwriting, drawing, dressing, feeding, and using scissors.
Gross Motor Skills: These involve the larger body muscles, facilitating activities requiring coordination, endurance, balance, and strength, such as sitting, walking, running, jumping, climbing on playground equipment, and playing sports.
Tabletop and School Readiness Skills: These skills are essential as children embark on their educational journey, including tasks like drawing, cutting, maintaining attention, classroom behaviour, following instructions, and honing craft skills.
Handwriting: We address key aspects of handwriting, including letter formation, resolving reversals, increasing writing speed, enhancing legibility, refining pencil grip, and reducing discomfort or fatigue.
Self-Care Skills: These encompass essential life skills like dressing, toileting, using utensils, tying shoelaces, and fastening buttons and zippers.
Visual Perception: Highly significant for tasks such as reading, puzzle-solving, letter and number recognition, copying, and writing.
